Target Audience
This activity is intended for gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, surgeons, internists, clinical researchers and other persons in the healthcare community with an interest in the treatment and management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

Overview
The content of this Webcast includes every aspect of the care of patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s Disease from the management of psychological and sociological considerations to surgical management, new and emerging biologic therapies, research and clinical trial data. A phenomenal faculty composed of national and international experts in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) pour out their respective knowledge and perspectives related to management of this impressive group of disorders.

Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Review significant advances in therapeutic options particularly biologics and immunomodulators in the treatment of IBD
  2. Discuss emerging genomic research developments as related to the pathophysiology of IBD
  3. Understand evolving patient management and treatment strategies for intestinal and extraintestinal complications in IBD
  4. Review immunological and microbial aspects relevant to the pathology of IBD
  5. Describe appropriate strategy options for the management of pediatric and adolescent patients with IBD
  6. Recommend disease management options based on current understanding of case presentations from national IBD thought leaders
  7. Discuss advantages and disadvantages of current pharmacological therapies for IBD
  8. Identify the most appropriate and effective surgical techniques in the treatment of IBD
  9. Review clinical challenges encountered by clinicians including the simple dichotomy between ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease toward enhancement of overall patient outcomes
